Between 1612 and 1614 Elector Friedrich V (1596 - 1632) also had a representation building built for himself the English Building named after the origin of his wife Elisabeth Stuart (1596 - 1662). This is located outside the actual court square, between the Ladies Building and the Thick Tower. The architect of the Nurnberg Council, Jakob Wolff, was commissioned with the building. Inside it was completely gutted by fire. Only the foundations walls and parts of the façade still survive today.
