It is not possible to drive directly to the castle address.
The State Palaces and Gardens recommend using the cable car.
The funicular railways will be undergoing maintenance from March 9 to March 27, 2026. During this period, the Heidelberg funicular railways will not be operating. The summer timetable will apply from March 28, 2026.

PERSONALISED
The annual pass is personal and non-transferable. In the event of unauthorised use, the annual pass will be retained by our supervisory staff and handed over to the castle administration.
VALIDITY
The annual pass is valid for one year from the date of issue. Access is subject to restrictions, e.g. due to special events, construction measures or legal requirements.
EXCHANGE/RETURN
The annual pass cannot be exchanged or returned.
LOSS
Unfortunately, it is not possible to replace the annual pass for technical reasons relating to the system and the ticket office, as the annual pass can only be issued for one year from the current date. Furthermore, no names are stored for data protection reasons, which means that lost annual passes cannot be reactivated.
